The concept for this Dutch M 1852 infantry officers model was doubtless the Russian M 1826 Infantry officers sword!
This M 1852 Home Guard officers sword differs from the M 1852 infantry officers sword in its finish only. The hilt of the M 1852 Home Guard model is always in Berlin-Silver, the Infantry model is finished in brass.
A beautiful M 1852 Home guard officers sword in an Excellent condition. The Dutch Home Guard was dissolved in 1901. In 1888 the second loose hanging ring was abolished. So this example must have been made between 1888 and 1901.
