Dutch M 1843 Naval officers sword by Frans Pauwels a Haye.(JP 82-124)

Nederlands marine officierssabel M 1843 "Sabel voor alle officieren, de Adelborsten 1e klas, Adjudant-Administrateur en scheepsklerken" / Dutch M 1843  naval officers sword.
Excellent bright finished heavy pipe back blade, deep etched in panels on both sides and on the blade spine. The panels have different motives. One panel shows a Man O'war from the front, a fouled anchor under a crown and military trophies over floral motives. The other panel shows: a Man O'war from the rear, a fouled anchor under a crown and two crossed naval guns over floral motives. There are a few stains on the blade only. Intact red leather washer.
The ricasso shows the trade mark of the German maker; Z in a shield. (= H. & W. Lang-Solingen. 1840-1860. After 1860 the Z in a shield trademark was taken over by Clemen & Jung of Solingen). The blade spine is marked with the Dutch retailers name; FRANS PAUWELS a Haye.  (= Frans Pauwels, Hoofdstraat, Den Haag. 1874-1925) 
Beautiful gilt hilt with a rich variation of ornaments. The gilt hand guard pierced with a fouled anchor under a crown and beautiful floral motives. The detachable hilt has a round finial on the top of the pommel. The white ribbed ivory grip is in an excellent condition, but has a hard to see small repair. It has a complete silver wire winding.
It comes with its genuine Dutch naval officers sword knot.

The brass mounted black leather scabbard with tooling is in a perfect condition. Very nice top mount with a fouled anchor  on both sides, so does the second band: a fouled anchor on both sides. Two brass hanging rings. Beautiful chape with flora motives on both sides. All stitches intact and no dents to the fittings.

This model was introduced in 1843 and closely resembles the French M 1837 naval officers sword. It was replaced by a new model in 1882.
The strong etching on this example indicates the production year, which is after 1874 and before 1882
