Dutch Cavalry officers sword M 1895 No.3 (JP 90-150)

"Cavalerie Officierssabel M 1895", Lange sabel No.3./  Dutch Cavalry officers sword M 1895. "Long sword" No.3. Excellent- chromium plated steel fullered curved long slim blade with an intact leather washer. There are a few small spots of corrosion near the tip only. No makers name on the ricasso.
Excellent+ large bright polished steel (not plated) pierced bowl hand guard with 7 bars. Also the inside of the guard is Excellent+ condition. Beautiful floral motives engraved to the outside of the guard. Excellent bright polished steel pommel. Detachable hilt with an Excellent ribbed black composite grip and an intact complex copper wire winding. 
Excellent+ chromium plated steel scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. Some light user spurs only but no dents to the scabbard
Comes with its rare Dutch brown leather sword knot on a black cord for mounted troops. Top of the knot shows some light wear to the leather only.

Total length 105,5 cm.!  Width at the ricasso: 2,1 cm.

This model was made and used for a very short time only. It was already replaced in 1912 by the adoption of the M 1912 standard Lion head pommel officers sword (wandelsabel) for all Dutch officers of any rank.
It was also used by Dutch mounted Police officers.
