"Nederlands bereden Gemeente Politie Officierssabel M 1876. / Dutch mounted Municipal Police Chief officers sword M 1876. Excellent long curved fullered bright finished slim blade. Red felt washer intact. Dutch proof mark: YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the reverse. Excellent bright polished Berlin-Silver hilt, hand guard with knuckle bow and three side bars and a forward swept quillon. Excellent+ wooden grip, covered with ray skin and a complete twisted red copper wire winding.
Excellent steel scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. There are no serieus dents to the scabbard.
Total length: 103 cm. Width at the ricasso: 2,1 cm.
This Dutch mounted Police Chief officers sword sword is made after 1880 and before 1912. This M 1876 model is the same as the M 1876 Cavalry sword. It differs in a Berlin-Silver hilt and the red copper wire winding.
