"Cavalerie Officierssabel M 1895", Lange sabel No.3./  Dutch Cavalry officers sword M 1895. "Long sword" No.3. Perfect and beautiful chromium plated fullered curved blade with an intact leather washer. o maker marks on the ricasso,. 
Large chromium plated pierced bowl hand guard with 7 bars in an Excellent condition. The chromium  plating of the inside of the guard shows some wear only. Beautiful floral motives engraved to the outside of the guard. Excellent chromium plated steel pommel. Detachable hilt with an Excellent ribbed black composite grip and an intact silver wire winding. 
Excellent chromium plated steel scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. No dents to the scabbard
Comes with is Excellent Dutch officers sword knot as found. Knot with silver buillions and stam, an orange core and a black cord.

Total length: 101  cm. Width at the ricasso: 2,5 cm.

This M 1895 cavalry model was made and used for a very short time only. It was already replaced in 1912 by the adoption of the M 1912 standard Lion head pommel officers sword (wandelsabel) for all Dutch officers of any rank.
It was also used by Dutch mounted Police officers.
