Very early Dutch M 1852 Jaeger Guard officer's sword by GEBR. VAN LEER- UTRECHT. (JP Page 84)
"Nederlands Garde Jager officiers sabel M 1852"/ Dutch M 1852 Jager Guard Officers sword. Very good+ very deep etched curved fullered heavy blade. Blade is beautiful very deep etched on both sides with hunter's trofees, gun dogs and foliage. Right side of the blade with the Dutch retailers name and Residence: GEBR. VAN LEER - UTRECHT in a scroll. Blade spine is etched: REGIMENT GRENADIERS en JAGERS. Blade shows fine spots of corrosion and some spots of moderate pitting. Red felt washer intact. Excellent early type straight grip with a cast brass pommel and a beautiful one piece light marbled horn grip, complete with its intact brass wire winding. Excellent brass gilt hand guard with a single side bar. Crossguard with a forward swept guillon.
Excellent+ Berlin-silver scabbard with two loose hanging rings. No dents to the scabbard.
Comes with a very good and rare Jeager guard officers sword knot with a green cord, silver buillions and a red core.
Very early heavy Dutch Jager Guard officers sword. Made around 1860. A hard to find early Jager Guard officers sword!
