Swedish M 1940 Police officers short sword. Serial number: 30 Matching! Excellent bright finished plane blade with false edge, marked: EXPORT on the blade spine. Gilt hilt with single knuckle bowl and short forward swept quillon. Wooden grip, covered with gray sharkskin, fixed to the blade spine by two large gilt rivets and a 30 marked brass ferule. Back of hilt is marked: GÖTENBORGS POLISDISTRIKT. Police coats of arms over a crown on the knuckle bowl. Working lock system in the back of the hilt. 
Black leather scabbard with brass fittings. Top mount with Swedish crest: Three golden crowns in a blue field under a red crown. Top is marked :30. Two brass "ears" fixed to the top mount. Long brass chape with several small dents.
Comes with its correct silver Swedish police sword knot as found.

These Police short swords were made in the 30-ties and used till 1965.
