Dutch infantry officers sword M 1852 by Wm. Pauwels & co. (JP84-130)

"Nederlands Infanterie officiers sabel M. 1852 " / Dutch Infantry officers sword M 1852. Excellent bright finished, but somewhat graying now, curved fullered blade with German makers trademark: Z in a shield (=JUNG-SOLINGEN) on the ricasso ( Covered by the felt washer) and the Dutch retailer's name and residence: Wm. Pauwels & Co te S HAGE (= The Hague) in two lines in a scroll on the right side of the blade. The Dutch quality mark: EISENHAUWER (Old style) in a scroll on the left side. Red felt washer intact.
Beautiful and excellent detachable M 1852 brass hilt with a cast gilt brass pommel and an one piece brown horn grip, with a twisted brass wire winding. Brass hand guard with side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon.
Excellent Berlin-silver scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. Throat screws are missing. A few dings but no serieus dents to the Berlin-silver scabbard.

Early M 1852 infantry officers sword in an Excellent condition! Made between 1852 and 1860. The second hanging ring was removed after 1888.
Total length 97 cm. Width at ricasso 2,5 cm.
The concept for this Dutch M 1852 infantry officers model was doubtless the Russian M 1826 Infantry officers sword!
