French M 1822 light cavalry troopers sword, modified by Poland or Finland. Very good large bright finished curved fullered cuirassier. Blade spine is crisp marked Mre d armes de Chatel  Aout 1882 - Mr de Mll 1822. Broad fuller and there is a narrow second fuller close to the blade spine. Ricasso is marked X in a circle. Small nick halve way the blade. Intact leather washer. Beautiful large brass hilt with removed outer brances leaving a knuckle bow only. Barrel shaped pommel. Excellent dark brown grip with intact brass wire . Knuckle bow is marked 5800 and a single inspection mark C in a circle.
Very good bright finished steel scabbard with a single loose hanging rings. The scabbard is marked 1431 and Regimental marked  R P L 132. There are several small dents to the scabbard. Total length: 107 cm  Width at the ricasso 2,8 cm

This is a heavy and impressive French M 1822 so called "Bancal sword" which was later modified and used by Poland or Finland!
