Description
French M 1861 Manceaux - Vieillard back loading carbine. Serial number: 481 very faint on crossguard. Experimental bayonet for the "Carabine du commence". Long blued V-section blade with fullers on all three sides. Blued steel hilt with a very long pommel. External spring and straight blued crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 18.5 mm. T-slot in pommel. Straight blued quillon with finial. Black horn grips riveted to the blade tang by two steel rivets.
No scabbard.
Total length: 685 mm.
