Dutch M 1962 FN FAL model C. Ceremonial Marines Corps bayonet. (ABCN97-1)(K12)(JN0)
FN FAL cal. 7,62 mm NATO automatic rifle. Serial number: KM 14627. Excellent+ blued blade with a flat upper side and a round underside. Ricasso is marked with a S . Excellent blackened long cylindrical socket. Socket is marked with serial number KM 14627 (= Korps Mariniers= Dutch Marine Corps). The cylindrical socket has four slotted openings and a ribbed press catch.
Minty blued steel ceremonial scabbard with an extra added white canvas integral frog, a chromium plated press button and a US Belt hook.
This bayonet scabbard has been designed for the Dutch Royal Marines Corps and was used during parades. The frog matches the KNIL inspired, spike helmet parade uniform.
It was designed by the well known military designer Mr. J.F.H.Th. Smits who also was responsable for the design of the Dutch Royal Air Force sword M 1955, the Air Force dirk M 1964 and the Police officer sword M 1966.
Made in Belgium on a very limited base.
