Mannlicher M 1892-93 rifle. Kal. 6.5 mm. Excellent ++ bright finished fullered blade, marked: OEWG on the ricasso. Excellent++ bright pommel with a crisp Romanian "Phoenix" stamp on the one side and two crossed flags marking on the reverse. Crossguard is marked on the left side with a German unit marking: 743. M 2. T-slot in pommel. Excellent hump back wooden grips secured by two rivets. Bright finished crossguard with small muzzle ring: MRD 14 mm.
Excellent and correct blued steel scabbard with no dents. Austrian frog stud is marked: OEWG. Phoenix over matching unit marking: 43
This bayonet marked with a unit number on the crossguard, was used by the Germans on the Austrian front line.
