"Nederlands M 1843 Marine adjudant-onderofficierssabel/ Machinistensabel "/ "Dutch Naval warrant officers sword M 1843" Excellent bright finished straight pipe back blade with a few small stains only. Blade is marked with Dutch retailers name and residence: M. PAUWELS & Co. - AMSTERDAM in a double scroll on one side. YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the reverse side. Intact white felt washer. Detachable hilt. Gilt hand guard pierced with a large simple fouled anchor. Excellent black ebony grip retaining its twisted silver wire winding.
Excellent brass mounted black tooled leather scabbard with two brass loose hanging rings and a styled chape. All three mounts are riveted to the leather scabbard body. Excellent tooling, all stitches intact and no dents to the fittings.
It comes with its genuine Dutch naval warrant officers sword knot with black cord as found in a very good condition.
This model was introduced around 1845.
