"Rijks Veldwachterssabel" 1880 - 1920. / Dutch municipal constable short sword M 1880. Rack number: 15 on the crossguard. Excellent+ straight bright finished plain blade with the Dutch retailers name and residence on the left side of the blade in a scroll, very faint and hard to read: J.F. SEGERS & ZOON - BREDA and IJZERHOUWER very faint on the reverse side. Beautiful and massive Nickel-Silver lion head pommel with one piece ribbed dark brown horn grip with 6 ribs. Excellent Nickel-Silver crossguard with two opposite quillons with acorn finals. Excellent Nickel-Silver shell guard showing a hunters horn.
Excellent+ and rare and very well made out of one piece and glossy black painted steel scabbard with imitated bright polished mount parts and no dents. Top mount with an acorn shaped frog stud and brass throat retaining screws.
Total length: 75 cm. Width at the ricasso: 2,5 cm. 

Hard to find and most eye appealing municipal constable sword in an Excellent+ condition.
