Dutch Marine officers sword M 1854 by H d H en Zn - Utrecht. (JP84-130)
"Nederlands Marinier officiers sabel M. 1854 " / Dutch Marine officers sword M 1854. Excellent bright finished curved fullered wide blade with Dutch retailer trademark: H d H en Zn (= Hendricus de Heus & Zoon - 1832-1868. ) in a scroll on the left side and its residence: Utrecht in a scroll on the right side of the blade. Red fabric washer intact.
Beautiful and excellent detachable M 1852 gilt brass hilt with a cast gilt brass pommel and an one piece dark brown horn grip with a twisted silver wire winding. Gilt brass hand guard with side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon. > 90% of the gilt is still there!
Very good Berlin silver scabbard with two loose hanging rings showing several small dents only.
Comes with its excellent and correct M 1854 Marines sword knot.
Scarce and early M 1854 Marine officers officers sword in an Excellent condition! Made around 1860. A very nice example!
