"Nederlands Infanterie officiers sabel M. 1852 " / Dutch Infantry officers sword M 1852. Superb heavy curved bright finished fullered blade. German makers trademark Z in a shield (=Clemen & Jung Solingen) on the ricasso and the Dutch retailers name and residence: P. MANSFELD & Zn. a l' Haye in a scroll on the left blade side (= Pieter Mansfelt and Son, Denneweg 12, The Hague. 1799-1960),. The reverse side is marked with the Dutch quality marking in an old style: EIZERHOUWER in a scroll. Red leather washer intact.
Excellent detachable M 1852 brass hilt with a cast brass pommel and an one piece black horn grip with an intact twisted silver wire winding. Brass hand guard with a single side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon.
Excellent+ Berlin-silver scabbard with a two loose hanging rings. No dents, some very little user spurs only.
Comes with its very nice correct and genuine M 1854 Dutch officers sword knot as found.
Excellent early Dutch M 1852 infantry sword. Clearly made before 1888. The second scabbard loose hanging ring was official removed after 1888.
