Dutch infantry "French influenze" officers spadroon. (Fransch "Fatsoen/ a la Classique" ) 1800 -1806. "Batavian Republic" (Napoleontic era) (JP64-1)

"Nederland Infanterie officierssabel naar "Fransch fatsoen" / a la Classique" uit de tijd van de Bataafse Republiek 1800 - 1806." / Dutch Infantry "French influense / a la Classique " officers spadroon. 1800 -1806 Batavian Republic. Superb bright finished single edged straight spadroon blade with no etching nor markings. This particular blade never had a Blue & Gilt decoration. Red felt washer intact. Excellent + and beautiful detailed straight gilt brass hilt with a checkered black ebony wooden grip with brass diamant shaped inlays on both sides. Gilt brass "5 ball" beaded crossguard. Sun burst head (sun sign) on the inside of the guard and a flower in relief on the outside of the guard, facing the blade. Single knuckle bowl with a man's face in the middle. Straight crossguard with a quillon. Beautiful rather large gilt brass plumed helmet pommel showing clear French, Napoleonic, influense. 90 % of the gilt is still present!
Its very fragile black leather scabbard with brass fittings and a round frog stud is unfortunately missing.
