Dutch M 1962 FN FAL model C, in its black ceremonial Dutch Marine Corps bayonet scabbard.(ABCN97-1)(K12)(JN0)

FN FAL cal. 7,62 mm NATO automatic rifle. Excellent+ blade with a flat upperside and a round underside. Minty blackened  long cylindrical socket. The cylindrical socked has four slotted openings and a press catch with smooth "wings". The minty blackened metal full dress scabbard has an unique large black leather frog fixed to the scabbard with two bright polished brass rivets. Scabbard is marked with a capitel Z.

This bayonet scabbard has been designed for the Dutch Royal Marines and was used during parades. The frog matches the KNIL inspired, spike helmet parade uniform.
It was  designed by the wellknown military designer Mr. J. F. H. Th. Smits who also was responsable for the design of the Dutch Royal Air Force sword M 1955, the Air Force dirk M 1964 and the Police officer sword M 1966. 
Made in Belgium for the Netherlands on a very limited base.
