M 1878 Greece Gras rifle. / Greece M 1874 Mylonas rifle. Serial number: 662 on crossguard. Superb T- back blade with Austrian makers name and date crisp on blade spine: WAFFENFABRIK STEYER 1881. Excellent++ brass pommel and a bright polished crossguard with a forward swept quillon and a muzzle ring. MRD: 17. 4 mm. Crossquard is marked: AD. Excellent wooden grips riveted to the blade tang.
Excellent blued scabbard with no dents.
Quite a rare Greek bayonet. Not many were ever produced for Greece and a great many were later converted and used with the Greek Mannlicher Schoenauer M 1903 and M1903-14 rifle. This one escaped!
