German M 1898/05 nA sawback bayonet by F. W. HOLLER - SOLINGEN.(ABCN805-2-b)(K257)(JN86-2)

German Mauser M 1898 Rifle and Carbine. M98/05 saw-back bayonet. Excellent++ bright finished fullered "Butcher" saw-back blade with the rare German maker name: F. W. HÖLLER - SOLINGEN on the right ricasso. 58 sharp teeth. Blade spine is crisp marked: W over 16 and a Gothic inspection marking. Excellent bright finished pommel, flash guard, crossguard and quillon. Two German (Gothic) inspection markings on the pommel. Excellent ribbed black walnut grips secured to the blade tang by screw bolts. Oil hole in grip. T-O slot in pommel.
Excellent and correct blued steel scabbard with a single German inspection marking on the throat. No dents.

F. W. HÖLLER - SOLINGEN is a quite rare maker for this model. They produced M 1898/05 bayonets from 1916 - 1918 and Sawback blades from 1916-1917 only.
