Belgian M 1964, Type B / T 48 FN FAL bayonet for Export. (ABCN91-1)((K742)(JN21-4)

Belgian FN FAL rifle, 7.62 mm NATO. (Type B / T 48 bayonet) Minty parkerized short blade with large false edge. Minty parkerized steel grips secured to the blade tang with two screw bolts. Minty parkerized pommel and catch with an early large ring. Parkerized crossguard with muzzle ring. NO prongs flash hider. MRD 18 mm.
Minty black plastic scabbard with a hole for a lace in the tip.

Super rare and seldom encountered experimental FAL bayonet made by the Belgium maker: FN (=Fabriek National in Herstal-Belgium). Used for trials in Canada and the USA (T 48 bayonet!) in 1964. Only 500 bayonets were imported into the USA!
Also used in very small numbers by the South African Police. (These South African used bayonets are marked: SA on the grip.)
