Dutch light Cavalry (LC) troopers sword M 1813, No. 2. (JP75-110 )
Nederlands Sabel der Lichte Cavalerie, M1813, No.2. / Dutch Light Cavalry troopers (LC) sword M 1813, No.2. Excellent++heavy curved fullered blade. Blade spine is marked with a Dutch inspection crown. Steel hilt with hand guard and 2 side bars and steel pommel. Side bar is marked with a Dutch inspection marking: Crown over V. Crossguard with langets on both sides. German makers trade mark S & S and a small + on the ricasso facing the blade and a forward swept quillon very faint marked: 115. Excellent++ wooden troopers grip, covered with black horse leather.
Excellent all steel scabbard with two loose hanging rings marked: 160 and a Dutch inspector marking: * over L on the drag. No dents to the scabbard.
Length of the sword ca.103 cm. Width at the ricasso 3,5 cm. Weight, including scabbard: Ca. 2,1 Kg.!
A very heavy and rare Dutch Napoleonic time frame sword in an Excellent++ condition. A very hard to find Dutch Waterloo battle field piece used by the Dutch Light Cavalry and mounted Artillery !
Later is was used during the Belgian conflict in 1830.
This sword once belonged to the collection of the The Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was sold in an international auction in 2020.
