Mauser M71 rifle/Mauser M71/84 rifle / Werder M1869 Rifle. Fantastic bright finished fullered blade with a scarce German makers name and residence: A. & A. SCHNITZLER - SOLINGEN on the ricasso. Blade spine is very crisp marked and dated: Crown over W over 74 over a Gothic inspection marking. Excellent brass grip with external spring. Pommel with two crisp inspection markings. Excellent bright finished steel crossguard with quillon and muzzle ring. MRD 17,4 mm. Crossguard is Saxon unit marked: 103. R. 6. 143. (= Kgl. Sächs 4. Infantry Regiment Nr. 103. 6e Battalion.
