German M1884/98 third model bayonet by ASW 44. Very rare phosphate finish and riveted red composite bakelite grips (Grey Ghost!) (ABCN454-9)(K142)(JN100-3)

Mauser M 84/98 carbine. Serial nummer: 0279 over g  on ricasso. Excellent crudely made and phosphate finished fullered blade with clear machine marks. German maker's name and date in code  44 ASW = E.& F. Hörster & Cie- Solingen. 1944) on ricasso. Excellent late phosphate finished pommel and crossguard.  Flash guard with no dents. Single Waffenambt stamp on pommel: WaA 618. Excellent red composite grips ( a mix of plastic and sawdust!) secured to the blade by two steel rivets and not by screw bolts! 

Excellent phosphate finished metal scabbard is matching maker and date marked: 44 ASW, serial number: 4230 cc 
No matching serial numbers, but same maker and date of a late year of production. 

Extremely rare German last production 84/98 bayonet! Seldom encountered. Also called Last Ditch or Grey Ghost bayonet by collectors.
