Belgian Labour Medal, First Class
Belgian Labour medal, First class. Introduced in 1847/ 1958 as a Long Service Award for employers who worked thirty years or longer in the Belgian Industrie or Agraculture.
This First class medal is produces in gold. The oval medal under a golden crown, has a laurel wreath with on the inside: BEKWAAMHEID- ZEDELIJKHEID in the Belgian Language on the right side and HABILITE- MORALITE in the French language on the left side. A beehive and tools in gold in the center under a rampant Belgian lion.
The medal is attached to a ribbon in the national colours of Belgium Black, Yellow and red showing a rosette in the same colours.
It comes in its original and genuine red paper box marked with the makers name in the inside: P. De Greef, MEDAILLES, 112-114 DUMIDI- BRUXELLES. De outside is marked D.I. 1e C. over N.E. 1e C.
