German Mauser M 1898 rifle. M 1898 nA  bayonet. Excellent bright finished fullered pipe back blade. German makers name and residence: W.K.&C.- Solingen (= Weyersberg & Kirschbaum-Solingen) in two rows crisp on the ricasso. Blade spine is marked: Crown over W and dated: '06 over a Ghotic inspection marking. Excellent bright finished pommel with two inspection markings. T-O slot marked with an inspection marking and a crossguard with a small backward swept quillon. Qullion is facing the made, marked with another small crisp inspection marking. Excellent bright finished pommel and crossguard. Crossguard is unit marked: 5. R. 12. 96 (= 5th. Grenadier Regiment König Friedrich I, ( No.4. Ostpreussisches) Home base Danzig, 12th. Battalion, rifle number 96). Reverse side is marked: B. Excellent (nA = 2-parts) ribbed wooden grips, secured to the blade tang by two marked screw bolts. Oil hole in grip.  
Excellent ++ tooled black leather scabbard with dents free bright finished steel mounts and all stitches intact. Top mount is unit marked: 34. R. 9. 182. (= 34th. Fusilier- Regiment Königin Victoria von Sweden (Pommersches) Home base: Stettin and Swinemunde. 9th battalion, rifle number 189)
Both fittings show inspection markings near the intact staples.
