German M1884/98 third model bayonet by ASW 44. Very rare phosphate finish and riveted red composite bakelite grips (Grey Ghost!) (ABCN454-9)(K142)(JN100-3)

Mauser M 84/98 carbine. Serial nummer: 2335 over bb  on the ricasso. Excellent - crudely made fullered blade with clear machine marks. Faint German maker's name and date in code  44 ASW = E.& F. Hörster & Cie- Solingen. 1944) on the ricasso. Very good late phosphate finished pommel and crossguard.  Flash guard with no dents, some user spurs only. Very good red composite grips ( a mix of plastic and sawdust!) secured to the blade by two steel rivets and not by screw bolts!
Excellent- blackened steel scabbard is matching maker and date marked: 44 ASW, serial number: 3126 over e 
No matching serial numbers, but same maker and date of a late year of production. 

Extremely rare German last production 84/98 bayonet! Seldom encountered. Also called Last Ditch or Grey Ghost bayonet by collectors.
