"Nederlands infanterie officiers sabel M 1912 -Wandelsabel-" / Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword. Excellent bright finished slightly curved fullered blade with German makers trademark: Original -over- Sitting squirrel with sword-over- EICKHORN-SOLINGEN on the ricasso hidden by a languet and the Dutch quality proof mark: YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the blade. Leather washer is intact. Excellent gilt brass hilt with lion head and knuckle bowl. Crossguard with forward swept quillon with puma head. Much of the gilt finish is still intact. Excellent black ebony grip with an intact complex twisted brass wire winding.
Excellent bright polished steel scabbard and not silver nickel plated. One loose hanging ring and no dents.

The M 1912 infantry officers sword is in use from 1912 on to present day. This model, according to the makers trademark, was made around 1935.
