Swedish Remington Rolling block rifle M 1867, 12.17 mm. Serial number in smal digits 1316 on left side of the shank. Excellent blued iron socket MRD 18.8 mm. and long cruciform steel blade with sharp point. Shank shows Swedish inspector markings: TN (= Nordström, Carl Timan) and RN. (=Nyström, Ludwig Roland)
There is a unit marking: 4. R. 8. K. No.24 in one line on top of the socket.
Total length: 557 mm.
Very nice and interesting socket bayonet, made from steel and iron welted together. In September 1868 only 10.000 examples were made in the US by Remington
