Canadian M1910 MkII Export bayonet, modified blade. (ABCN375-7)(K111)(JN25-3)
Ross MK III rifle. cal.303. Serial number 340 on pommel. Excellent bright finished plain Mark II modified blade. First 4 cm of the blade are blackened. Excellent blued pommel and pinned crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 16,7 mm. Model with no pin in pommel. No production date, nor the usual Canadian ownership marking on left side of the pommel. Reverse side is marked; ROSS RIFLE Co. QUEBEC PATENTED 1907 in three lines and 340. T-slot in pommel. Blade tang is marked twice with a crown over 4. Crossguard with small quillon. Very good walnut grips. Close to the crossguard, the left grip is stamped with a hard to read number: 6146 (?).
Very good and correct brown leather Mk II scabbard showing user spurs. Leather belt loop replaced by a khaki frog. Throat is marked crown over 23, Leather scabbard body is crisp marked 1916 MK II., R.C. No Canadian marking.
Canada exported small numbers of the Ross rifles and bayonets to diverse countries. This could be an export bayonet to Russia, Chili or Latvia
