Dutch Naval officers sword M 1882 by Carl Eickhorn-Solingen.(JP 99-170)
Nederlands marine officierssabel M 1882 "Sabel luitenant ter zee" / Dutch M 1882 naval officers sword. Excellent and beautiful bright finished heavy pipe back blade, etched in panels on both sides and on the blade spine. The panels have different motives. Both panels are showing a Man O'war and a fouled anchor under a crown. Blade is marked Yzerhouwer on one side and the German makers logo of Carl Eickhorn-Solingen, a sitting squirrel over C.E. in a double circle, on the reverse side. (This logo was used from 1933 till 1935). Felt washer intact. Gilt lion head hilt, the gilt handguard pierced with a fouled anchor under a crown and floral motives. The white ribbed composite grip is in an excellent condition and retains all the brass wire winding. Gilt mounted black leather scabbard in a perfect condition.
Comes with its beautiful and correct silver sword knot with an orange core.

This model was introduced in 1882 and is still carried by Dutch Naval officers. This one is pre-WWII and made by the German maker Carl Eickhorn Solingen, is not common as most are made by WKC.
