"Nederlandse M 1912 No.1 Landmacht klewang. "/ Dutch M 1912 No.1 Army cutlass/ klewang. Serial number: 394 Matching!. Excellent deep blued fullered klewang blade with clip point. The ricasso is crisp marked with the German makers name: ALEX. COPPEL, SOLINGEN (=Alexander Coppel-Solingen. Logo used from 1887 till 1918) and the reverse side is marked: Crown over B. (Dutch inspector E. B. Brossois.) Blade spine is faint marked: Crown over B. Excellent wide open blued steel hand guard. The excellent blued detachable hilt is marked with a Matching serial number: 394 and a Dutch inspection marking on the inside: Crown over B. Excellent two piece wooden grip secured to the blade tang by three brass rivets. Sword knot slit in the upper part of the guard. The blade tang is fixed to the pommel by a nut screw. Nut screw is marked : Crown over B.
Excellent brown leather scabbard with clear tooling. All stitches intact. Steel internal chape is secured by a brass wire winding. Scabbard body is marked: 394 and the throat is marked: AI (= Artillerie Inrichtingen).Bit worn leather frog strap on the throat and an internal retaining spring.
