HÖRSTER -Solingen ) and an old style Dutch quality proof mark: EISENAUER. This model was introduced in 1843 and closely resembles the French M 1837 naval officers sword. It was replaced by a new model in 1882.
The absence of a blade etching on this example indicates the early production year, which is after 1843 and before 1874. After 1874 the blades were etched.
Early M 1843 Dutch Naval officers swords are pretty hard to find.
