"Nederlands infanterie officiers sabel M 1912 -Wandelsabel-" / Dutch M 1912 Infantry officers sword. Superb bright finished, slightly curved fullered blade with the Dutch quality proof mark: YZERHOUWER in a scroll on the blade. Black leather washer is intact. German makers monogram: H.H.S. pierced by a vertical sword (= E.& F. Hörster-Solingen 1914) on the ricasso, covered by the languet. Left languet is marked with small owners initials: R.K. Excellent+ brass hilt with lion head and knuckle bow. Crossguard with forward swept quillon with puma head. Most of the original gilt is still present. Excellent black ebony grip with an intact and complex twisted brass wire winding.
Excellent silver nickel plated metal scabbard with one loose hanging ring. Silver nickel plating shows some light wear and user spurs only. No dents.
Comes with its very good and correct Dutch infantry officers sword knot as found. Silver bullion and an orange core.
