"Nederlands Infanterie Onderofficierssabel M 1859. Korte sabel No. 3." / Dutch Infantry NCO short sword M 1859, No.3. Excellent curved bright finished plain blade. German maker trademark: Kingshead and Knight helmet crisp over W.K.& C. on the ricasso. (= Weyersberg - Kirschbaum & Co.- Solingen). Excellent+ one piece cast brass hilt with a ribbed handle with no steel rivet in the center. Massive cast brass crossguard with a forward and a backward swept quillon. Forward swept quillon with an acorn.
Total length 61,5 cm.
These M 1859 NCO short swords are altered M 1819 No.2 Infantry troopers sword. Blade and knuckle bow were modified.
