German modified French M 1874 Gras bayonet (ABC N 1508-1) (K 0) (JN 0)(EB117)(Roy Williams 774)

German  M 1888 Commission rifle. Serial number: L 48481 on the guillon. Superb T-shaped blade marked:.  Mre. d'Armes de St.- Etienne, Juin 1880  crisp on blade spine and two French inspection marks on the ricasso.
Excellent modified hilt with a brass pommel and excellent wooden grips. The hilt is modified by grinding away the upperpart of the brass pommel. hereby the depth of the slot is reduced. Modification included bending the blade slightly downwards from about 50 mm. away from the crossguard and enlarging the muzzle ring by 2,5 mm.modified muzzle ring MRD 17,4/23 mm. Excellent bright finished  crossguard with quillon. There are three more French markings on the quillon. 
Excellent blued steel scabbard with no dents.
