English No.1 MK1. Royal Air Force issued bayonet by WSC. (Pattern 1907) Admiralty contract (BCB281)
Sterling Lanchester M 1941 SMG Mk.I and Mk.I*. Superb parkerised blade with first 2 cm blackened. Blade is nicely marked: Crown GR (faint)- 1907- WSC (=Wilkinson Sword Company) and dated: 12 '42 on the ricasso. Enfield inspection marking: Crown over 17 over E and . /|\ and X on the reverse side of the ricasso. Excellent pommel and crossguard with muzzle ring. MRD 15.5 mm. Oil hole in pommel. Excellent wooden grips.
Excellent black leather scabbard with a blackened top mount and chape. Leather body with a large W. Top mount is marked: 238 and CIW 1941 and chape C.E.4 . Throat is marked: 1444. Both fittings have no dents. Round frog stud with three rivets to the top mount and all stitches intact.
In order of the Admiralty, Wilkinson swords company made a last production round on P.07 bayonets for the 9 mm Sterling M 1941 Lanchester submachine gun, which was issued to the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. This one has no Wilkinson dispersal code, so this particular one was issued to the Royal Air Force.
