US M 1905/1942 bayonet by U.F.H. dated 1943(K 293)(JN 221-2)(ABC N 925)
US .30-06 M1903 Springfield/ M1 Garand. Serial number: M 379 on crossguard. Superb very dark parkerized fullered Long blade with US maker's trademark and date: U.F.H.(=Union Fork and Hoe- Columbus-Ohio) U.- Flaming bomb- S., 1943 very crisp on the ricasso. Minty parkerized pommel and crossguard. MRD 15,5 mm. Minty black ribbed back bakelite plastic grips.
Excellent olive drab painted fiberglass M3 scabbard with US belt hook made by Beckwith Manufacturing Company of Dover, New Hamspshire. marked B-2 N on the steel belt hook. The steel top mount marked: U.S. in a flaming bomb.
The US M1905/1942 bayonet was made by 6 contractors only and only from April 1942 till May1943:
U.F.H: 430.000
A.F.H.: 400.000
PAL: 210.000
UC: 200.000
OL: 150.000
Only Wilde Drop Forge and Tool made a smaller number: 60.000.
These 1942-43 new made long versions were mainly used in the Pacific by the US Marine Corps.
