Mauser M 1871 cal 11 mm and Mauser M1871-84 rifle, Serial number 17256 on crossguard. Excellent +bright finished blade with short fuller. Blade spine marked with a unknown inspection marking: Crown over Ck. Ricasso with unusual German maker's trade mark abbreviation on the ricasso: V.C.S (= V.C. Schilling-Suhl). Excellent wooden grips secured to the blade with rivets. Bright pommel with T-slot. Inspection mark: Crown over Ck on pommel. Crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 17. mm. Some light pitting to the left side of the crossguard. Inspection mark: Crown over Ck facing the blade. Excellent back leather scabbard with clear tooling and bright polished brass fittings and oval shaped frog stud, without dents and intact stitches. Chape is marked with an W in a circle.
Total length: 379 mm.

Based on the brass fitted scabbard and the fact that Uruguay used the Mauser M 1871/84 rifle, this is a very rare German made export bayonet for Uruguay. 
Very rare and well made bayonet in a fantastic condition.
