Mauser M98 rifle. Superb bright finished fullered blade. German maker's name and trademark: Twins over J.A.HENCKELS over ZWILLINGWERKE crisp on the ricasso. Prussian W over date: 16 and crown over a Gothic inspection mark very crisp on the blade spine.
Excellent, somewhat stained, bright finished crossguard and pommel with T-O slot and a crown over a Gothic inspection marking. Crossguard is unit marked : 1. 48.
Excellent wooden grips secured with screw bolts to the blade tang. Flash guard with a few small indentations only.
No scabbard.
