Minty double edged nickel plated blade with German maker's name and trademark: CARL EICKHORN-SOLINGEN and a sitting squirrel on the ricasso. White felt washer. Beautiful on piece black ribbed grip with double twisted brass wire winding. Gilt open pommel in the shape of the Dutch Royal crown. Gilt crossguard in the shape of a flying eagle. Scabbard release button on the reverse side of the crossguard. Excellent black leather scabbard with gilt fittings and two loose hanging rings.
The set is complete with its genuine black patent leather belt with a brass buckle and its complete set of minty black patent leather carrying straps with brass buckles.
It comes all in its original straw board carton with parts of printed paper tape, saying: KONINKLIJKE LUCHTMACHT (= Royal Dutch Air force)
This is a never used new set!
A very nice Dutch designed dirk. These were made in a very limited number in the early sixties and are getting scarce now.
MINT, never used new example. A complete set, with its carrying belt and straps, still in its original straw board carton!
