Nederlands Mensur degen. / Dutch Mensur sword. Excellent- long fullered blued straight blade with a blunted tip. The ricasso is crisp marked with the Dutch makers name and residence.: NED.WAPENMAGAZIJN over HAARLEM- 'S HAGE. (= Dutch Weapon Arsenal in Haarlem-The Hague) Detachable hilt with a bowl and two side bars. Excellent one piece ribbed wooden grip covered with ray skin and a silver wire winding. All steel, parts are showing staining only.
Length of sword 98 cm. Blade length 81 cm. Width at the ricasso 1.5 cm.
A very attractive well used Dutch student Mensur sabel. Made around 1900. Seldom seen.
