Belgian (Dutch) M 1819 No.2 infantry troopers short sword. (JP 74-108)

"Belgisch Infanterie manschapssabel (Nederlands M 1819 No.2) / Belgian made and issued Dutch M 1819 No.2 Infantry troopers short sword. Excellent bright finished plain blade, crisp marked: FA under a crown in a trilob and dated: 1886. Reverse side is marked: GB in an oval and a Belgian Rampant Lion in a vertical box. Blade spine is marked: LD. Leather washer intact. Excellent one piece cast brass hilt with a steel pin in the ribbed grip. Single hand guard and a short guillon with an achorn shaped finial. Top of the grip is marked S over 2040 and hand guard is again crisp Belgian marked: twice FA under a crown in a trilob and a Belgian Rampant lion in a vertical box.
Excellent and correct later type zinc scabbard covered by tooled dark brown/black leather. Brass throat with a leather frog strap. The steel internal chape is fixed by a brass wire winding. All stitches intact.

The M 1819 No. 2 infantry short sword was a Dutch produced edged weapon with clear influence of the French M 1801 briquet.  
This example is very special course it is very clearly Belgian made and issued. It is very late dated: 1886!!!
This short infantry troopers sword was used by Belgian Jaeger (Jagers te voet) and is in an Excellent+  condition.
