Rare Austrian course made Feldgrau painted steel ersatz scabbard with an Austrian frog stud and a ball finial. Some small dents to the scabbard only.

During WWI, Austria and Germany captured a great many Russian Mosin Nagant rifles and bayonets. Be course the Russians did not make scabbards with their socked bayonets, (the bayonets were permanent fixed to the rifles), Austrians and Germans made their own ersatz scabbards. They differ in the frog stud type.
