M 1898 Officers Kurzes. Excellent bright finished fullered blade with little user spurs only. German makers trademark: Two back to back sitting squirrels over CE on the ricasso. (= Carl Eickhorn- Solingen. This trademark was used from 1906 till 1921.) Excellent bright polished steel bird head pommel with large beak. No functional T-O slot. Slotted press button. Bright polished steel crossguard with short backwards swept quillon. Intact leather washer. Beautiful checkered black wooden grips with oil holes on both sides, secured by two steel domed rivets.
Excellent and correct blackened metal scabbard with two smal dents near the tip only. Blade length 25,4 cm.
This is a high quality Imperial (WWI ) private purchased officers bayonet! These pretty rare non functional WWI Kurzes are not made of chrome plated white metal like the WWII dress models, but from bright polished steel. These are very well made Kurzes and are produced around 1910.
