M 1874 Gras rifle. Serial number: F 99499 on the crossguard. Excellent T- back blade with French maker's name Mre. d" Armes de Tulle Octobre 1880 (=Made at the Tulle Arsenal in October 1880) crisp on blade spine. Left ricasso is marked wit a large: 5 in a box and the reverse side: G in a circle. Excellent brass pommel and a bright polished crossguard with a forward swept quillon and a muzzle ring. MRD: 17.1 mm. Blued external spring Crossquard with 2 French inspection markings on the left side of the qullion. The right side of the pommel is personalized by a Canadian citizen in 1913; E. K. REID 1913 under HALIFAX NS (=Nova Scotia) Excellent wooden grips riveted to the blade tang.
Excellent blued scabbard with no dents.
