Belgium M 1963 production failure tubular FAL socket bayonet. No slot in pommel! (ABC N 97-4-d) (K 12)
"FN FAL and CAL. automatic rifle". Production failure socket bayonet. A very rough unfinished blade with a flat upper side and a round underside. Clear file strokes to the blade. It has an Excellent long cylindrical socket made out of one piece with the four standard slotted openings, but it seems the welding of the rear side to the cylindrical socket failed during the production proces. The rear side was not correct fixed to the socked and therefor is must have been rejected from the production line. There is no provision for a slot made in the rear side at all.
This interesting odd "bayonet" is clearly unfinished and can not be fixed to a rifle.
See last pictures for a comparison with a finished socked bayonet.
Never seen before odd bayonet!.
