Argentine M 1909/47 carbine, 7.65 mm. Serial number 00871 on the ricasso. Excellent bright fullered blade with no Argentine crest and G.N. and serial number 00871 (= Gendarmerie National= Border Patrol) on the ricasso . D.G.F.M.(F.M.A.P.), (= Directorale General de Fabricacione Militarest - Fabrica Militar de Armas Portailes) Sable Bayonetta, MAUSER, Mod.1909 in 4 rows on the reverse site.
Minty pommel with T-slot (not a T-O slot!) and wooden grips without oil hole. Crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 15.5 mm and quillon. Excellent blued scabbard with serial number. H 3218 and no dents
This was one of the only 905 bayonets made in Argentina for the G.N. Gendarmerie Nacional.(=Border Guard) There are two variations. The first 500 examples bearing the Argentine crest and the remaining 405 (!) are lacking the crest. This one with serial number 871 is one of the second variation and the rarest!
