Mauser K98k. Serial number: 51405 over 258 on ricasso. Excellent and correct plumb finished fullered blade with the Austrian makers trademark: BYM (= Machinenhaus Ferlach -Austria )on the ricasso and date '41 on the blade spine. Excellent blued pommel and crossguard. Flash guard with no dents. Two German Waffenambt markings on pommel. Excellent ribbed black bakelite grips secured to the tang by two screw bolts.
Excellent blued scabbard, without any dents and no makers mark. Frog stud is marked: F 32 and ferulle with a Waffenambt stamp. Not matching.
Rare maker. Between 1939 and 1944 only 130.000 bayonets were made by Machinenhaus Ferlach in Austria.
