" Nederlands Gemeentepolitie Amsterdam klewang"/ Dutch Urban Police of Amsterdam klewang - Cutlass. Serial number: 74 Matching on the blade spine and on the rim of the scabbard throat.  Excellent+ chromium plated fullered curved clip point blade. Black leather washer intact. German maker's logo: x CARL EICKHORN x SOLINGEN in an double oval with a sitting squirrel in the center on the revered side of the ricasso. The crest of the city of Amsterdam, the capital of the Nederlands, a Dutch Royal Crown over a shield with three vertical crosses beautiful etched on the right side of the ricasso.  Excellent+ chromium plated hilt with a single knuckle guard and three side bars. Excellent ribbed wooden grip covered with gray fish skin and an intact twisted silver wire winding.
Excellent all steel chromium plated scabbard with a single loose hanging ring and no dents. Some very light wear to the plating only.

The Dutch Urban Police adopted the klewang in the thirties and used it till 1960. This model resembles the M 1913 Marechaussee ceremonial klewang very closely, but varies in details.  

Very special Urban police klewang, nicely etched with the Crest of Amsterdam.
